Only when I have something to say.

I'm not a pro-Blogger. I'm not really a Blogger. Let's face it.
I only come here randomly.
Only when I have something to say.
I'm in no way criticising those of you who blog regularly.
I read your blogs frequently. I do. I love them.
I enjoy them. I only write comments if I've something to say, too. You know, I think I'm repeating myself.
Anyways...

I've popped in to say that we'll be closed this coming Friday (22nd February) and to explain why.
On Monday I went to my Dermatologist and had 20 (yes twenty) sun spots frozen off my forearms & face. Not the most pleasant of experiences but also not the worst thing in the world by any stretch of the imagination so no pity party please.
Consequently I look like a plague victim.
I won't go in to details, in case you're eating.
I can tell you that I do look like I have a black eye due to swelling caused by two of the spots being very close to my right eye. Anyways, February is a fairly quiet month in retail so we took the decision to simply close for one of the days I'm off healing. Happily I'll be back in store next weekend. I'm sure cabin fever will have well and truly kicked in by then.
Whilst I'm here - have you visited Darby Street yet?
There are so many changes and improvements occurring!
We're all feeling very inspired to make our beautiful street even more so. Check out the freshly refurbished High Tea with Mrs Woo (reopening tomorrow); Too Cool for School by Blue Star Elements (opening any day now); the new Abicus (opened last Wednesday)& Scout by Abicus (opened today) and the refurbished RADstore (opening very soon) just to start with!
What an amazing Community of inspirational indy stores!
Hmmmmmmm what will Blackbird Corner do to make ourselves more pretty....?
xxx
PS. Stay out of the sun. Seriously. It's ruining your skin.

  1. I was lightly sun burnt yesterday: have been freaking out ever since.
The sun is awfully fearsome! Feel better beautiful!

  2. The sun down here is really strong, stronger than QLD it seems - I get burnt in 10 minutes even if it's cloudy! The other day I also copped heat stroke and was mildly delirious all day. Not fun! Rest up :-) Darby St sounds like a nice place to be.

  3. You rest up and recover. I'm keen to check out all the new offerings on Darby Street, might see you on Saturday afternoon perhaps.

  4. Lindsey, WEAR sunblock. Carry a parasol. Don't risk sunburn.
Holly - bloody hell! Heatstroke? Nothing like a bit of delirium to feed your creative juices!
Linda - Not this Saturday you won't. If anything I'm looking worse. I'll be back on board next Friday but do pop in to Darby Street - it's looking spesh indeed! xxx
